History & details

হিমছড়ি জাতীয় উদ্যান ১৯৮০ সালে ঘোষিত হয়। এখানকার পাহাড়ি বনে একসময় হাতিসহ নানা বন্যপ্রাণী ছিল; এখনো বানর, নানা পাখি ও সরীসৃপ দেখা যায়। পাহাড়ের গা বেয়ে নামা ছোট ঝর্ণা বর্ষায় সবচেয়ে সুন্দর।

মূল আকর্ষণ পাহাড়ের চূড়ায় ওঠার সিঁড়ি—প্রায় কয়েকশো ধাপ উঠলে ওপর থেকে নিচে মেরিন ড্রাইভ, সৈকত আর দিগন্তজোড়া সমুদ্র দেখা যায়। কক্সবাজার শহরের খুব কাছে হওয়ায় প্রায় সব পর্যটক মেরিন ড্রাইভ ট্যুরে প্রথমেই এখানে থামেন।
